Abstract

GPS technology has developed as position tracking system in real time named GPS Tracker and navigation system. In this research, the GPS Tracker will be evolved using Raspberry Pi microcomputers and GPS module. Port GPIO in Raspberry Pi is an interface allowing the microcomputer to interact with the outside world. GPS Module is an instrument to capture the GPS signal emitted by minimum of 3 satellites, so that it will derive a coordinate. Development of the GPS Tracker system is based on NMEA data format processed to become coordinate data and stored into the Raspberry Pi database then continued by the visualization process on map based web using Google Maps API integrated with application built. The result shows that the GPS signal captured and stored into database has been able to be visualized on Google Maps API in real time and the visualization marker moves, leaving a mark in every few seconds
