Abstract

This internship was conducted at PDAM Tirta Kamuning, Kuningan Regency, focusing on the hydraulic evaluation of the IPA Surakatiga drinking water distribution network. The evaluation aimed to identify water loss levels, analyze the compliance of the distribution system with design criteria, and provide improvement recommendations. The methodology applied was hydraulic modeling using EPANET 2.2, covering parameters such as residual pressure, flow velocity, and headloss. The results indicated a water loss rate of 16.11%, which is below the maximum allowable limit of 20%. Hydraulic simulations showed that most of the distribution network met the design criteria, although several points exhibited excessive pressure that could potentially lead to pipe leakage. In addition, about 0.29% of pipes recorded headloss values exceeding the standard due to friction and network conditions. Recommended improvements include enlarging pipe diameters at specific points, installing Pressure Reducing Valves (PRV) in high-pressure areas, and conducting regular maintenance to prevent leakage. Implementing these strategies is expected to enhance the efficiency and reliability of the water distribution system, thereby supporting clean water services for the community. Keywords: Drinking water distribution network, EPANET 2.2, water loss, residual pressure, headloss.
