Abstract

River water quality must be a concern, especially in Banten Province, because several rivers in the region are raw water sources used to provide clean water. This research was carried out by taking four sample points of the Cidanau river flow in Banten Province in 2023. This research aims to determine water quality, water quality status, and pollutant load using physical and chemical parameters, including temperature, TSS, pH, DO, COD, BOD, phosphate and nitrite as well as determining water quality status using the Pollution Index method. The research results show that the physical and chemical conditions of the Cidanau river water quality have varying results, there are several physical and chemical parameters that meet quality standards and those that do not meet quality standards. The pollution level of the Cidanau river in 2021-2023 using the Pollution Index method is 10.9% meets quality standards, 67.7% is lightly polluted, and 21.5% is moderately polluted. It is hoped that this research can provide a real picture of the water quality of the Cidanau river through the river water quality monitoring program carried out by the Banten Province Environment and Forestry Service using several methods.
