Abstract

Healthcare facility waste that is not managed properly can have an impact on the environment, which has the potential for pollution and health threats. This waste is categorized as hazardous and toxic material (B3) because it has the characteristics of B3 waste. Therefore, this waste needs special treatment, one of which is by a third party in processing. PT X is one of the companies engaged in waste treatment, including medical waste. In managing medical waste, this company has technical aspects that include transportation, storage, and processing that refer to PerMenLHK P.56/2015, as well as nontechnical aspects that include regulatory and licensing aspects, financing, operational management, and human resources. To determine the suitability of these aspects, an evaluation of B3 medical waste treatment at PT X was conducted. This evaluation uses an assessment with the Guttman scale method. With this method, the evaluation results can show that PT. X gets an average suitability of 76.07% with a good achievement category. However, PT. X needs to improve several aspects related to the management of medical hazardous waste in order to achieve a more optimal compliance value in accordance with regulations.
