Abstract

Purwakarta Regency has experienced an increase in population which has an impact on increasing domestic waste generation. According to the Spatial and Regional Planning, the strategy for improving solid waste services is to apply the 3R (reduce, reuse, recycle) concept in temporary shelters so as to reduce the transportation of waste to landfills. Another factor that must be considered is the process of transporting waste from temporary shelters to landfills. This study aims to determine the optimal cost of transporting waste from the temporary shelter to the final processing site using Saving Matrix Method. This method is used to determine the transportation route from temporary shelters to landfills with the factors being reviewed, namely the order of distribution routes that must be passed and the number of vehicles based on the capacity of the vehicle. This method is used in order to obtain the shortest route to maximize the capacity of garbage transported, so as to save on vehicle operating costs. Based on the results generated waste in the Purwakarta Regency was 447.25 m3/day, taking in the 3R concept of temporary shelters able to reduce the waste that goes into landfill by 40% or 160.57 m3/day. The results of modelling using the saving matrix show that the optimal distance for vehicles dump truck to transport waste residue from the 3R temporary shelter to the landfill is 661,96 km/day. The vehicle operates as many as 11 units of vehicles with the required amount of expenditure is 1.244.484.000,00 per year.-.
