Abstract

After more than 3 months of implementing mobility restrictions, in response to the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia, the Indonesian Government will ease these restrictions towards the New Normal period. With these changes, the question arises about how the activity-travel in the New Normal period will be. This study aims to understand the effect of changing experiences during a pandemic on individual intentions in changing travel patterns and online activities during the New Normal period. The results of distributing questionnaires, which were conducted online, were used to support the analysis carried out. This study shows that there is a reduction in the frequency of trips and activities during the pandemic and there is an intention to make adjustments to the number of travel and activities during the New Normal period. An increase in travel activity was found among young travelers and workers. The adaptation of electronic devices during the pandemic has a positive effect on the intention of online activities during the New Normal, so that it has the potential to increase online activities continuously after the New Normal period. Keywords: Covid-19 pandemic; mobility restrictions; travel patterns; new normal.
