Abstract
Cibeureum River is one of the Citarum sub-watersheds that crosses two regions that are Bandung and Cimahi. The Cibeureum watershed is located in the South Cimahi District through the Cibeureum sub-district, Melong sub-district, and borders the Cijerah sub-district, Bandung City. The Cibeureum sub-district and Cijerah sub-district have a high population density of 225 people.ha-1 and 282 people.ha-1, while the Melong sub-district has a low density of 91 people.ha-1, so the area has the potential to have sanitation risks, especially related to wastewater management. This study will analyze and calculates the water quality status of the Cibeureum River so that the level of pollution is known. The method for calculating the water quality status of the Cibeureum River used is the Pollution Index. River water quality compared to class II quality standards Government Regulation (PP) Number 82 of 2001 concerning Water Quality Management and Water Pollution Control. Water samples were taken at 3 locations during the transition, dry and rainy seasons. There are 15 parameters analyzed. Based on the analysis show that BOD5, COD, TSS, and fecal coliform are the main parameters causing river pollution. The water quality status of the Cibeureum River in almost all locations at various seasons has a heavily polluted index. The rainy season has the highest pollution index score than any other season, amounting to 13.67 in the upstream, 16.65 in the middle of the river, and 14.15 in the downstream.
