Abstract

The rapid development t of the electronics industry at Bandung has both positive and negative effects. The negative impact is given as hazardous and toxic waste (HTW) which will have negative consequences if not properly managed. Evaluating of the management of HTW is an important thing to do to ensure that the management is in compliance with regulations. The objective of this study is to identify and quantify the types and amounts of HTW in the X Bandung City industry. This company is committed to electronics with a domestic market share. Descriptive observation research with objects in the form of activities of the production process, source, reduction process, packaging, storage, labelling and transport of HTW. The data collection period occurred between July 2019 until June 2020. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the IPA (isophthalic acid liquid) used was the most HTW followed by contaminated materials such as broken cells/modules, used coolants, worn personal protective equipment, rags and parts of PCB. The total HTW produced is 1,176 tons/year, while the amount of IPA used (isophthalic acid liquid) is 0.414 tons /year.
